BV Products: Disc Finishing
A disc finishing machine is a style of mass-finishing machine that has a round chamber with a rotating disc in the bottom. The disc rotates and forces the contents out and up against the stationary chamber wall, where it begins to slow down. The contents of the chamber slows further as it reaches the top of the load, just before it descends back down the middle toward the spinning disc, where the cycle is repeated.
The constantly varying speeds of media and parts generate excellent surface finishes in cycles that vary in duration between the vibratory machines and the centrifugal barrel. It is also possible to use disc machines for processing flat parts that will stick together in conventional vibratory machines.
These machines can be fully automated. However, these options are often more costly and should only be considered if the volumes of parts to be finished is large or of high value.
BV Products have aligned with Erba Ltd Surface Finishing from Turkey to offer the innovative Turbo range of disc finishing machines for large industrial type applications.
The Erba range of equipment offers short process times for deburring, polishing and radiusing of small and medium size work pieces and come with the following features.
- Highly durable hot-poured polyurethane coated work container and disc.
- Easy changeable gab rings.(Except Turbo-20 and Turbo-50)
- Speed controller with frequency inverter.
- Digital process timer.
- Digital disc speed indicator.
The CF series of disc finishing machines can be used for any application that requires a perfect surface finish to be achieved in a very short time for a variety of components such as turning, milling, stamping tools, and jewelry, etc. Disc finishing machines are modular in design and available as standard with 1 – 6 process drums. All controls are accessible from the front and clearly laid out. Many years of experience have gone into the development of these machines, which is why they are so popular.
VERY EASY TO OPERATE
Speed, processing time, water/compound concentration, rinse cycles and all other main processes parameters can easily be set by means of the user-friendly Siemens touch screen control panel and up 75 different processing programs can be stored.
The use of only top-quality materials and components throughout ensures trouble-free operation and a long service life.
Comparatively low capital investment and a high potential for cost savings make the CF series excellent value for money.
Deburring, smoothing, grinding and polishing – the entire range of applications with just one machine.
ECO MINI SERIES
The ECO mini-series is unbeatable in terms of cost-effectiveness. This model packs the technology of large industrial disc finishing machines into an amazingly compact format. The patented technology enables the finest granulates to be used, giving a sensational shine comparable to that obtained by manual polishing. In addition, the plastic abrasive medium used prevents any unsightly pitting on the surface of jewelry. A timer makes the machine easy to operate and it works quietly without producing dust.
It is the smallest and most cost-effective “finishing center” on the market.
FOR WET FINISHING
The ECO mini “wet” is used mainly for very small, zero or prototype series, for removing casting skin or traces of sanding or grinding. This makes the subsequent polishing stage much simpler and much faster.
FOR DRY FINISHING
The ECO mini “dry” is used mainly for polising tarnished or worn jewelry.
ECO MINI SERIES
The modular concept of the ECO-Maxi makes it ideal for small series production. Their high-tech design makes these machines extremely economical, with savings being as much as 60 % compared to the cost of conventional finishing. To cater for specific applications, the ECO-Maxi is available in the versions “magnetic”, “wet” and “dry” and as a flexible all-rounder, the “basic” model.
CLEAN AND BRIGHT WORKPIECE SURFACES
Completely removes any traces of sanding/grinding and casting skin for perfect results.
A SURFACE FINISH EQUAL IN QUALITY TO THAT OF MANUAL POLISHING
Puts a shine even on inaccessible areas of intricate workpieces and completely removes oxidation discoloration and any residual investment material.3
FLEXIBLE IN USE
This machine type is the first to use three separate or up to three different finishing processes in a single machine.
